Cuba: Is Bible distribution now legal? Don"t believe it before you see it!

Show: false / Country: Cuba /
According to Charisma News (22 May 2015), the 46-year-old ban on Bible distribution in Cuba has been lifted temporarily. If true, this means that Bible distribution on the island is now legal. Christian agencies are excited and are hoping this will also lead to spiritual revival. The Joplin Globe‚ reports, however, that this policy change is an experimental program of the Bible Commission of Cuba, and that it could be halted at any time. Paul Groen, persecution analyst for WWR, comments: "After checking with key contacts in Cuba, this policy change could not be confirmed. There is no indication that things have changed on the ground. The Bible Commission of Cuba, a state-controlled institution, continues to be the only authorized entity that is allowed to distribute Bibles. The main problem is that Bibles sent to Cuba are received and distributed by the Bible Commission, but rarely get to unregistered churches."
