Nigeria: More Christians killed by Boko Haram

Show: false / Country: Nigeria /
Associated Press reported on 21 September 2016 that militants belonging to Boko Haram attacked a military convoy in the north-eastern part of Nigeria and beheaded the chief of a village and his son before killing two other villagers. The militants also killed eight Christians who were leaving a church service in the village of Kwamjilari. Yonas Dembele, persecution analyst at World Watch Research, says: "Despite the Nigerian government"s claims that Boko Haram is facing defeat, these attacks show that the group still has the operational capability to terrorize and kill Christians and others. In order to protect all those whose lives are being wrecked by the violence caused by Boko Haram, it is imperative that the Nigerian State and international community continue their efforts to defeat the group and bring peace to the region."
