Free Burma Rangers released a compelling video on 9 October 2015 showing the
sufferings of Nuba Christians. The video clearly demonstrates how the people of Nuba are being deprived of their right to live free of fear and attack in their homes. The video shows what life looks like in a cave while the sky is roamed by the Sudanese air force.
Ashagrie, persecution analyst for World Watch Research, says: "The video produced by the Free Burma Rangers is another testament to the horror the Nuba Christians have to go through day in and day out. The government of Sudan has been committing atrocious crimes against the Nuba Christians for many decades. In the early period of the Second Sudan Civil War (1983-2005), the Sudanese government implemented a policy of "˜Arabization and Islamization". In the implementation process, many Nuba Christians were killed, and many were forced to convert to Islam. After the independence of South Sudan in 2011, the government of Sudan deliberately attacked civilian homes, schools, hospitals and farms under the guise of fighting Sudan People"s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N). In the past, many reports have indicated that the government of Sudan attacked civilians, and what gives the video produced by the Free Burma Rangers an extra edge is that the team recorded live aerial bombardment of refugee camps. The government of Sudan is
accused of using cluster bombs against the Nuba people in a report by Humans Rights watch on 15 April 2015.‚ The use of cluster bombs is banned by the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) which entered into force in 2010."
