As reported by Nepal Church on 31 March 2024, Nepal Sports Fellowship organized an Easter Gospel program for national and international sports players in Lalitpur and honored the Nepalese national team of the West Asian Football Federation Women's Championship for reaching the final in Saudi Arabia, where they lost to defending champions Jordan.
World Watch Research analyst Rolf Zeegers comments: “This event shows that there is room for public Christian events in Nepal. Indeed, it is quite remarkable that such a church-run sports occasion could take place at all what with Hindu radicalism on the increase in the country. The success of this event has boosted hope for the Christian community, even if the future for Christians in Nepal does not look promising: As reported by WWR, in the Open Doors World Watch List 2024 Nepal scored 62 points, only just outside the Top 50 ranking.”
