The Nepal Church website reported on 20 May 2020, that 3 US churches had generously funded the distribution of relief and food items to 115 low-income families at four different places in Kathmandu in May. In a first phase coordinated by local social workers and pastors, food was distributed to 34 households in Dholahiti of Lalitpur and 35 households in Dhovighat of Lalitpur. In a second phase, food items were distributed to 15 domestic workers working in a brick kiln at Toukhel in Lalitpur and 30 others. Rolf Zeegers, persecution analyst at World Watch Research, comments: "Nepal is a very poor country and many people are living under difficult circumstances. The situation has been made worse by the COVID-19 crisis which has caused many migrant workers from Nepal to leave their employment in India due to the lock-down there. Christian families in Nepal are mostly from the poorer classes and have been badly affected by the current crisis."
